BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey turns its attention to a Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series with Nichols this weekend. The Rams will entertain the Bison Friday, Jan. 24 at 6:00 p.m., before traveling to Harrisville, Rhode Island, Saturday, Jan. 25 for a 4:40 p.m. puck drop.

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time in the all-time series Suffolk women's hockey and Western New England needed overtime to decide a winner and the Rams prevailed in the Conference of New England (CNE) contest, 4-3, Saturday night at Olympia Ice Center. Kate Pohl potted the game-winning goal with 2:50 left on the clock in OT.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk women's hockey split its home-and-home series with Western New England last weekend with a 5-1 setback followed by a 4-3 overtime win to move to 7-8-0 on the season and 5-4-0 in CNE play.  

The foursome of Alexia Hill (5g, 7a), Jenna Caballero (11a), Anya Nichipor (3g, 7a) and Bella Schmidt (5g, 5a) have all supplied double digit points to the blue-and-gold's 49-goal offense.  

In net, Katelyn Michals has taken on the bulk of the work load. The sophomore sports a 3.36 GAA and .897 save percentage in her 14 appearances, all starts. 

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols is winless over its last seven games to hold a 5-10-1 overall mark and 2-6-1 CNE record. The Bison managed to pick up conference points last weekend as it skated to a 1-all draw at the University of New England Saturday.  

Ema Jaskova has found the back of the net a team-best five times, three of which came versus conference competition. Jaskova has dished out three assists for eight points, good for a share for the top spot on the team alongside Grace Melanson, who has an evenly split stat line between goals (4) and assists (4).  

McKenzie Muir has played the bulk of time in between the pipes. In 11 games, all starts, she has built a 2.64 GAA and .927 save percentage with a pair of shutouts. Paige Almon (1.71 GAA, .895 save %) and Anamarya Pulgar (3.96 GAA, .858 save %) have made multiple appearances in net as well.

  • Suffolk holds a 10-2-1 all-time record against Nichols. 
  • The Rams are unbeaten in the last 11 meetings with the Bison. That streak features 10 wins in a row for the blue-and-gold including the last meeting, a 5-1 victory, Feb. 3, 2024
