Schmidt Selected CNE Player of the Week

CNE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's hockey's Bella Schmit secured Conference of New England (CNE) Player of the Week after providing four points to a 1-1-0 week for the Rams, the league office unveiled.

Schmidt, who calls Woodbury, Minnesota home, potted one goal, her first of the season, in the 6-3 setback at No. 12 Colby Nov. 19.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, the forward helped Suffolk reset its single-game goal record with a three-point effort in the 11-0 offensive onslaught of Framingham State. She potted a personal-best two goals and dished out one helper. The three points in a single-game is a career-high for the sophomore as well.

The weekly accolade is the first of Schmidt's career. She is the first Ram to be recognized by a weekly accolade from the conference office since Lily O'Neil and Alessia Di Silvestro grabbed goalie of the week and rookie of the week, respectively. Schmidt is the first blue-and-gold skater to take home the league's best skater in a seven-day span since Madison Duff garnered the honor March 6, 2023.

Schmidt and Suffolk are back in action tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 26 when they travel to the University of New England for a 7:00 p.m. CNE contest.
