Di Silvestro, O’Neil Grab CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's hockey's Lily O'Neil and Alessia Di Silvestro garnered weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference after helping the Rams to a 2-0-0 league weekend. O'Neil was named CCC Goaltender of the Week and Di Silvestro picked up CCC Rookie of the Week.

O'Neil, a senior from Abington, Massachusetts, made 50 saves in the two-win weekend in which the Rams shutout University of New England, 2-0, and skated by Nichols, 4-1. Against the Nor'Easters, the blue-and-gold netminder turned aside all 28 shots she faced en route to her fourth shutout of the season, eighth of her career. ON the road versus the Bison, she stopped 22 of the 23 shots put on target. Over the weekend, she assembled a 0.50 GAA and .980 save percentage.

Di Silvestro scored one goal on four shots to help chip into the offensive output versus the Nor'Easters. At Nichols, she finished with a +1 and blocked one shot.

The weekly honors are the second for both O'Neil and Di Silvestro as they picked up the same such honors Nov. 13. Overall, Suffolk has five weekly honors this year as Anya Nichipor was named the conference's best player over a seven-day stretch Nov. 27, 2023.

Suffolk rides its two-game win streak into its final full weekend regular-season slate that features a trip to Salve Regina Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m., and a Eastie battle versus Endicott Saturday, Feb. 10 at 4:50 p.m.
