
BOSTON – For the second straight season. Suffolk women's hockey picked up votes in the DCU/USCHO.com Division III Preseason Poll, the national organization announced.
The DCU/USCHO.com Division III Women's Ice Hockey poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 votes, including coaches and media professional from across the country.
Suffolk, who was picked the favorite of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) earlier today, received votes in the poll leading up to the season for the second time in as many years. The Rams have been spotted on the national list eight times in program history, with its highest at 14th in last season's final poll, March 20, 2023.
The Rams, who will be under new leadership this season with first-year head coach Abby Ostrom, on the bench, are set to face four foes, who appeared on the preseason DCU/USCHO.com poll throughout the season.
Suffolk's CCC foe Endicott also picked up some votes in the preseason poll, while every opponent at the season-opening Utica Kick-Off Tournament – No. 13 Utica, No. 6 Adrian and No. 12 Elmira – landed in the top-15.
Puck drop of the 2023-24 Suffolk campaign is four days away with the Rams set to lift the lid on its sixth season at Utica Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
