BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey drops the puck on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament this afternoon as the top-seeded Rams entertain fourth seed University of New England in a semifinal showdown at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink at 4:50 p.m.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk will make its second straight appearance in the CCC postseason. 
  • The Rams will compete in the playoffs as the first seed for the first time in program history. 
  • The Rams will make their fourth playoff push in program history. 
  • Suffolk has never missed a postseason conference field that a league tournament was held in its four-year history. 
  • Overall, Suffolk is 2-3-0 in the postseason, 0-1-0 in the CCC Tournament, in program history.

  • Suffolk aims to make its first bid in the CCC Championship for the first time in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
Women's hockey made Suffolk University history Friday, Feb. 17 as it captured the Commonwealth Coast Conference regular-season title behind a 5-1 win over Curry at Canton Ice House.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk wrapped up the regular-season 16-7-2 overall and 14-2-2 in CCC contests.  

A pair of players have surpassed the 20-point plateau in Shana Cote and Miranda Gaudet to anchor the Rams' 73-goal offense. Cote's 26-point stat line is evenly divided with 13 goals and 13 assists, while Gaudet has found the back of the net seven times and dished out 17 helpers. Sofia Scilipoti (9g, 10a) rounds out the top scoring trio with 19 points and Madison Duff (5g ,12a) has proven to be a scoring threat from the blue line.  

Lily O'Neil has played the bulk of time in between the pipes. In 20 games played, all starts, she has assembled a 1.60 GAA and .937 save percentage. 

NOR'EASTER NOTES
UNE shutout Curry, 3-0, in the CCC Quarterfinals Wednesday, Feb. 22, to carry a 9-14-3 overall record into Saturday.  

McKenna Remillard tops the Nor'Easters offense with 14 points behind six goals and eight assists. Keely Kasputis' team-best eight goals are combined with five set-ups for 13 points, good for second on the squad. Abbi Charvat holds a dozen points behind three markers and nine helpers.  

In net, Delanie Corcoran has started 25 games. She brings in a 2.11 GAA and .940 save percentage.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk blanked the University of New England, 2-0, in the first meeting this season, Dec. 2, 2022. The Rams and Nor'Easters would then go on to skate to back-to-back stalemates; a 3-3 draw Dec. 3, 2022, before a 2-2 tie Feb. 3, 2023.
