BIDDEFORD, Maine – For the first time in Suffolk University history, a Rams' team has earned the top seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference postseason, as women's hockey won the regular-season CCC crown.

The regular-season title came behind 44 points off a 14-2-2- league ledger, which topped No. 2 seed and reigning CCC Tournament Champion Endicott (14-4-0).

Suffolk, Endicott and No. 3 seed Western New England (10-6-2 CCC) will move on directly to the CCC Semifinals where they will await the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between fourth seed University of New England and fifth seed Curry. The CCC Quarterfinal is on tap for Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

The victory of the midweek quarterfinals game will join the trio of teams in the CCC semis, which are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25. The quarterfinal winner will play the top-seeded Rams, while the Gulls and Golden Bears will pair off in the other.

The two semifinal winners will then meet in the 2023 CCC Women's Ice Hockey Tournament Championship next Saturday, March 4, with the highest remaining seed hosting. The winner of the championship contest will not only be named the 2023 CCC Women's Ice Hockey Champion but will earn the automatic qualifier for the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship.

Suffolk will skate in the CCC postseason for the second time in as many years and make its fourth trip to a league tournament. The Rams have advanced to the semifinals once, as the sixth seed in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) in 2019-20. That same season, the blue-and-gold moved onto the championship contest. Suffolk has yet to win a postseason game as the home team in program history.
