BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk women's hockey and the University of New England skated to a 3-3 draw Saturday at Harold Alfond Forum after trading goals in regulation of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest.

SCORE: Suffolk 3 | University of New England 3
RECORDS: Suffolk (7-3-1, 6-1-1 CCC) | University of New England (5-5-1, 4-3-1 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
UNE got on the board first as Keely Kasputis won a scramble in front of Lily O'Neil and managed to tuck the puck away to push the Nor'Easters on the board 5:46 into the game. The game-opening goal came after Kasputis zoomed ahead for a one-on-one with O'Neil and the blue-and-gold

Just over a minute later, Suffolk leveled the playing field as Madison Duff shot one past Delanie Corcoran. Sofia Scilipoti and Sammy Lassman helped even the score at 1-all.

The Nor'Easters regained the advantage 10 minutes later. Abbi Charvat put away a power play goal with help from Bella Crugnal and Avery Lutrzykowski at the 15:43 mark, which forced the Rams to play catch-up once again.

Elisa Wainwright's backhand strike at the 13:36 mark of the middle period equalized matters for the second time on the afternoon. Miranda Gaudet picked up a rebound from Livia Brehm's shot that went wide and left it for a swooping Wainwright. The Rams defenseman took the puck from left to right, which pulled Corcoran out from the cage and allowed Suffolk's sophomore to wrist it home to make it a 2-all game.

Sofia Scilipoti sent Suffolk in front for the first time on the day three minutes into the final period of regulation. The junior scored the go-ahead goal on her own rebound.

UNE would not go down without a fight as Hannah Humes tied things up when she beat Julia McLellan stick side with just over six minutes to go in the third period. Humes fired a shot from the right face-off dot that zoom past O'Neil's right shoulder to lock things at 3-all.

Suffolk had the upper hand as time ticked on when it went on the power play with 4:55 remaining in regulation. Corcoran and the Nor'Easters defense kept the Rams off the board with one save and two blocked shots, respectively.

Down the stretch, McLellan was tested, but the senior stood up to the test with three saves in the final two minutes to force the extra session.

Both teams were whistled for a penalty in the extra session, but neither capitalized to keep things locked at 3-3 as time expired.
