Women’s Hockey Blanks Salve Regina, 3-0, for Record Win

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – The Suffolk women's hockey team picked up three additional Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) points, while recording its program-best 16th win of the season, in a 3-0 shutout of Salve Regina Tuesday evening at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 3 | Salve Regina 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (16-3-0, 11-2-0 CCC) | Salve Regina (4-12-2, 3-8-2 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams scored one goal in each period, all coming by way of different goal scorers, in the victory.

Jesse Kennedy opened the scoring for the Rams at the end of the first period, tipping in a shot from the point off the stick of Madison Ricardo at the 17:57 mark to send Suffolk to the locker room up one goal.

In the middle of the second, the Rams broke out of the zone off a deflection that led Cassidy Gruning and Shana Cote on an odd-man rush. Cote tucked the puck into the back of the net at 11:04 of the period to add an insurance tally.

In the final minute of the third stanza, the Seahawks pulled Ellee Kopecky out of the cage to add an extra attacker. Sydney Tietz took a feed from Madison Duff, following a key blocked shot, and buried the game-sealing empty-net goal.
