2021-22 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S HOCKEY ROSTER
BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey's head coach Taylor Wayslk recruited seven fresh faces to join the program for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign. The group, which is the largest since the program's inaugural class in 2018-19, features six true freshman, one sophomore and one junior.
"I could not be more excited to welcome this group of players to Suffolk," Wasylk said. "We have been a competitive program our first two seasons, but the talent in this class pushes us a step closer towards our goal of a conference championship."
Wasylk continued, "All eight players come from established programs with a history of winning and producing some incredible hockey players. I expect all of our newcomers to easily transition into our program and become key contributors in the locker room, on the ice and within the Suffolk community."
The bulk of the incomers are forwards in Emily Bozzi and Julia Franklin, who played together on the Philadelphia Junior Flyers, as well as Sam Molind, Vanessa Stuart, and Sofia Scilipoti, who was recently named to the Spanish National Team. Hannah Gordon looks to add depth in goal, while Leslie Steiner will chip in at the blue line.
With the addition of the eight skaters, Suffolk's squad is the largest to date with 25 student-athletes. The Rams will have their work cut out for themselves as they will compete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) for the first time after having its highly anticipated debut in the league derailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic a year ago.
The puck is set to drop on the 2021-22 campaign Friday, Oct. 29 against Plymouth State at the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink in East Boston.
