Women’s Hockey Sees Quartet Named Krampade All-American Scholars

AHCA RELEASE

BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey saw four players garner Krampade All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) for the 2020-21 campaign, the national organization announced Thursday.

All four Rams – Maddy BurtonStephanie MoyLily O'Neil and Kiley Searles – are first-time honorees.

Due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's recipients, eliminating the 40 percent game participation requirement. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.60 grade point average for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.

Suffolk's four honorees were among 50 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) players to be recognized for their work inside the classroom. Endicott had the most with 14, while a baker's dozen (13) came from the University of New England. Salve Regina saw double digit nods as well with 10, while Western New England had nine students acknowledged.

Overall, 450 women across Division III earned the feat. For a full list of honorees, click here

Suffolk has seen at least one player pick up the accolade in all three seasons of the program's history. Overall, 10 Rams have combined for 11 academic awards from the AHCA.
