Endicott Skates Past Women’s Hockey, 6-4

BEVERLY, Mass. – In a game of back-and-forth scoring, Endicott proved to have the upper hand over Suffolk women's hockey and the Gulls took down the Rams, 6-4, Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 4 | Endicott 6
RECORDS: Suffolk (2-5-0) | Endicott (5-0-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott found the back of the net first. Lauren Ferraiulo and Ashley Keaveney set-up Catherine Miles for the game-opening goal at the 13:48 minute mark.

That one-goal lead for the Gulls did not last as the Rams responded 1:09 later to even the score. Stephanie Moy struck on the power play with help from Natasha Savage and Elise Wainwright to erase the deficit and make it a one-all game.

The quick exchange of goals continued in Endicott's favor as the hosts lit the lamp 1:03 after Moy leveled the playing field. Jacy Kuhlman's unassisted strike with just under four to play in the first frame gave the Gulls a 2-1 advantage at the end of the first 20 minutes.

Out of the locker room the Gulls poured in the points with three unanswered goals to make it a lopsided score 5-1 score. Maddy Burton sliced the gap down to three thanks to help from Shana Cote. The senior's goal came at the 16:05 mark.

This time it was Suffolk's turn for an offensive output out of the locker room. The back-to-back goals from the blue-and-gold came thanks to the Rams' special teams. First Madison Duff struck on the power play at the 5:02 minute mark thanks to Madison Ricardo and Payton Dockus. Just 50 seconds later, Burton found the back of the net for the second time on the afternoon, this time, with the Rams down a man. The shorthanded goal, which was assisted by Shana Cote, trimmed the margin down to one, 5-4.

Endicott restored the multi-goal margin 42 seconds later on a power play of its own.

Over the final 14 minutes, including 2:22 of which the Rams had an empty net, Suffolk attempted to make up the ground, but never could, and the Gulls took the game, 6-4.
