Rams Rookies: 2020-21 Women’s Hockey

2020-21 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S HOCKEY ROSTER

BOSTON Suffolk women's hockey will add four newcomers for the 2020-21 season, head coach Taylor Wasylk announced. 

The group features junior transfer Meghan Gazard and a trio of true freshman that represents each position in forward Bella Kaczorowski, goaltender Lily O'Neil and defender Elise Wainwright

"I am very excited to welcome our four new players to this year's team," Wasylk said. "With a combination of talent, hard work and team first attitudes, I expect all four girls to come in and play an immediate role for us on the ice and in the locker room. They are proven students in the classroom and will fit in extremely well with the hardworking culture that we have created over the past two seasons here at Suffolk."

Wasylk on Gazard –" Meghan is a great addition to our team as she brings a never ending work ethic and positive attitude to our locker room; I am excited to see her mesh with her teammates and expect her to fill an important role for us on and off the ice." 

BEFORE SUFFOLK – CONNECTICUT COLLEGE (2018-20)
Began her collegiate career as a field hockey player at Connecticut College … Played 30 games, starting 28 … Registered 23 points on 10 goals and three handouts …. Two-time National Field Hockey Association All-Academic Team honoree (2018 & 2019) … Two-time Dean's List student (2018 & 2019). 

BEFORE SUFFOLK – ASSABET VALLEY – RIVERS SCHOOL
Competed for Assabet Valley … Led Assabet to the 2014 National Champion … Helped Assabet to the Mass State Champion title in 2014 … Letterwinner at The Rivers School and captained the team as a senior … Aided to a NEPSAC Ice Hockey Championship in 2015 … ISL Honorable Mention selection in 2017 … Two-time The Rivers School Most Valuable Player … Also lettered in field hockey and captained the team in 2018 … Helped The Rivers School to back-to-back NEPSAC Championships (2014 & 2015) … ISL Honorable Mention honoree in 2016 … 2016 Rivers Filed Hockey Coaches Award recipient … 2015 Rivers Field Hockey Achievement Award honoree … 2016 Rivers Scholar-Athlete.  

BELLA KACZOROWSKI | FR. | F | 5-6 | ANCHORAGE, ALASKA / NAHA WHITE
Wasylk on Kaczorowski "Bella is the ultimate teammate. She brings positivity and passion to every task and I expect her to be one of our most enthusiastic and supportive players both on and off the ice. She will fit in extremely well with our offensive core and I am excited to see her come together with her teammates on the ice."

BEFORE SUFFOLK  NAHA WHITE  DIAMOND
Played for NAHA White … Led NAHA White to the JWHL Championship in 2020 … Letterwinner at Diamond and captain the team as a sophomore. 

LILY O'NEIL | FR. | G | 5-4 | ABINGTON, MASS. / DEXTER SOUTHFIELD
Wasylk on O'Neil Lily is a superb goalie who I expect to come in and split time with returner Julia McLellan; she had a phenomenal career at the Dexter Southfield School and I expect she will make a smooth transition to the college game

Four-year letterwinner and captain the team as a senior at Dexter Southfield … Coaches Award recipient in 2020 … Tabbed Dexter Southfield's MVP in 2019 … Helped Boston Jr. Eagles to the Girls Tier I U19 National Championship in 2019 … Lettered in softball at Abington … Led Abington to the MIAA DIII Softball State Championship in 2018 … Member of Abington's SAAC in 2017 Four-Year Honor Roll student.  

ELISE WAINWRIGHT | FR. | D | 5-4 | MILFORD, MICH. / DETROIT HONEYBAKED
Wasylk on Wainwright Elise is a solid shut down defenseman; I expect her to fit in well with our returning defense and am excited to see her grow with great role models like Madison Duff and Payton Dockus leading our back end.

Played for the Detroit Honeybaked … Letterwinner in field hockey and lacrosse at Hartland … Led Hartland to the field hockey conference championship.
