Poloskey Picks Up NECH Rookie of the Week Nod

BOSTON – After scoring a pair of goals in back-to-back league games, Haley Poloskey of the Suffolk women's hockey team garnered NEHC Rookie of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday.

The nod is Poloskey's second of the season and marks the seventh team a Rams player has received weekly recognition from the league.

The freshman forward from Mattawan, Michigan, picked up the pace after a 3-1 non-league setback to Becker Tuesday. When Suffolk started second semester league play, Poloskey potted the game-tying and eventual game-winning goal to help the Rams take down Castleton, 4-2. She followed that with another two-goal effort to pave the way in a 4-2 win over Salem State and secure the four-point league weekend for the blue-and-gold.

The two-goal efforts match a personal-best for Poloskey in points and goals.

Overall this season, Poloskey has registered 12 points on eight goals and four helpers.

Poloskey and Suffolk is back in action this weekend when it caps off a three-game homestand Friday, Jan. 25 versus UMass Boston at 5:45 p.m. From there, the Rams conclude the weekend at New England College the next day, Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m.
