Women’s Hockey Earns First Win, Shutouts Anna Maria, 4-0

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Ten different Rams recorded a point and Kristen Caporusso was perfect in between the pipes as Suffolk women's hockey secured the program's first victory with a 4-0 cleansheet over Anna Maria at the New England Sports Complex Friday night.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 4, Anna Maria 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-2) | Anna Maria (0-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk put away three goals in a 6:43 span in the tail end of the first frame to gain an early edge it would not let go of.

Payton Dockus got the scoring frenzy going at the 13:05 minute mark with help from Madison Duff and Stephanie Moy.

Less than five minutes later Tess Adams got in on the scoring action. The senior struck on Suffolk's penalty kill 4:07 after Dockus' goal. The shorthanded strike came by help of Sydney Jordan and Izzy Hendry

With 12 seconds left before the intermission Shana Cote pushed the Rams' cushion to three with her first goal of the season. Cote buried a feed from Adams and Grace Scholz to send Suffolk into the locker room ahead 3-0.

Quickly out of the break Jesse Kennedy extended the Rams' advantage to four as she converted a pass from Haley Poloskey just 1:47 into the second stanza.

The score stood still from there with Caporusso keeping the AMCATS off the board to lock up the win for Suffolk.
