Mahendran Threepeats as NWGC Player of the Week

NWGC RELEASE

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Suffolk women's golf's Krisna Mahendran collected Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Player of the Week for the third consecutive week after a pair of victories over the weekend.

Mahendran first helped anchor the blue-and-gold to the NWGC Fall Classic title with individual medalist honors in the 50-golfer field. She landed in a three-way tie with teammate sophomore Brooke Bugajewski and SUNY Cortland's Gina Milazzo with an 80 on the par-72 course at the Van Patten Golf Club.

A day later, the Rams rookie once again was the best golfer at the NWGC Fall Invitational. She topped the 45-golfer field with an 80 (+10) at the Mohawk River Country Club. She helped Suffolk secure second in the 10-team field.

Mahendran has now won four straight outings in as many outings.

The weekly accolade is Mahendran's fourth overall and third straight. With four weekly honors, the Katy, Texas native now ties Isabel Smith for the most all-time in program history. All four of Suffolk's weekly accolades this season belong to Mahendran. The four weekly awards in a single-season by the Rams is the second-most behind the 2023-24 squad that earned five.

Mahendran and the Rams wrap up their 2024 fall slate this weekend, Oct. 19-20, when they play for the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
