
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Suffolk women's golf put together its third win of the season and in as many outings as the Rams captured the Northeast Women's Golf Classic Saturday at the Van Patten Golf Club.
The Rams finished with a 329 (+41), eight strokes ahead of SUNY Cortland (337) to top the 11 team field. Nazareth rounded out the top three with a 360.
It is the second straight season that Suffolk finished first at the NWGC Fall Classic.
Suffolk's victory was in thanks to large part to each of its five golfers securing a spot in the top-10.
Freshman Krisna Mahendran and sophomore Brooke Bugajewski led the way. The twosome finished in a three-way tie for individual medalist honors with Cortland's Gina Milazzo. The trio each shot an 80 on the par-72 course to share first.
Freshman Emory Goodson shared seventh with an 84 (+12). Goodson's classmate was one stroke ahead of her classmate Clare Stackpole-McGrath, who took ninth.
Ella Torsleff rounded out the Rams in a share of 10th with an 87.
Suffolk is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 12 at the NWGC Fall Invitational at the Mohawk River Country Club in Rexford, New York.
