Women’s Golf Captures New England Classic

WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk women's golf put together its second win in as many outings as the Rams captured the New England Classic title Saturday afternoon at the Wenham Country Club.

The Rams topped the three-team field with a 305, nearly 100 strokes ahead of runner-up and host Gordon (407). The University of New England rounded out the field with a 416.

It was another case of déjà vu for the individual title in as many outings for the blue-and-gold as Krisna Mahendran won the event that featured 14 golfers with a 70.

The Rams were responsible for the top four spots as Brooke Bugajewski slid into second with a 76. Emory Goodson put together a 79, good for third and Ella Torsleff turned in an 80 for fourth.

Suffolk is back in action next weekend Oct. 11-12 with back-to-back 18-hole events in the Empire State. The Rams will first compete at the Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, New York for the NWGC Fall Classic, before battling in the NWGC Fall Invitational at the Mohawk River Country Club in Rexford, New York.
