
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Suffolk women's golf captured the Martin Division at the two-day Martin/Wallace Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland over the weekend at the Cortland Country Club.
The Rams topped the five-school field that featured William & Smith, Nazareth, St. Lawrence, and SUNY Geneseo with a two-day card of 702.
Individually, Ellie Yarbrough put together a runner-up finish. She shot an 81 on day one and an 82 on the second day on the course to finish with a 163, just one stroke behind the individual champ, Mary Grace McCann of St. Lawrence.
Isabel Smith and Sophie Kiley finished right behind Yarbrough in third and fourth, respectively. Smith shot a 170, while Kiley carded a 176.
Madison Scheinberg rounded out the Rams in upstate New York with a 193, good for 13th in the 22-golfer field.
Suffolk sets its sights on the 2023 Northeast Women's Golf Championship (NWGC) next weekend, April 22-23. The Rams and their conference counterparts will converge at Wintonbury Hills in Bloomfield, Connecticut to play for the conference crown.
