Women’s Golf Takes Third at NWGC Fall Invitational

WILTON, N.Y. – Suffolk women's golf wrapped up its weekend in McGregor Links Country Club with a third-place performance at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Fall Invitational.

Suffolk combined for a 388 to take third in the 10-team field on the second day of action in Wilton, New York. The Rams were 40 strokes behind the winner, SUNY Cortland (348) and just two strokes shy of runner-up Nazareth (382).

Ellie Yarbrough shared third for the second time in as many days. The junior shot an 86 on the par-72 course. 

Classmate Isabel Smith turned in a top-10 finish as well with a share of ninth with a score of 94. 

Pair Irving tied 19th with a 103 and Sophie Kiley's 105 put the junior in a share of 21st. Madison Scheinberg rounded out the Rams' team with a 107 showing, good for a share of 25th, while Olivia Lanci competed as an individual and claimed 24th with a score of 106. 

Suffolk is off until Oct. 15-16 when it defends its regional crown at the NEIGA Championships at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
