WELLESLEY, Mass. – Suffolk women's golf saw its season-opening win streak come to an end as the Rams were outshot by Wellelsey, Sunday after the Nehoden Golf Club. The Blue beat the blue-and-gold, 333-391.
Wellesley's golfers earned the top five spots to cruise past the Rams and hand Suffolk its first head-to-head loss since falling to SUNY Cortland, 354-366, May 1, 2021.
Isabel Smith (92), Ellie Yarbrough (94), Sophie Kiley (98), Madison Scheinberg (107) and Paige Irving (109) finished in order in spots six through ten on the par 74, 5904-yardage course.
Suffolk will be back in action this weekend, Oct. 1-2, with a pair of Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) single-day tournaments, both of which will be held at the McGregor Links Country Club in Wilton, New York.
