
BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf looks to reclaim the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championships this Sunday, April 25 as it heads to Voorheesville, New York to battle with its conference counterparts at the Colonie Country Club.

Spectators are allowed at the NWGC Championships this Sunday, April 25, however, they are asked to remain socially distanced from all student-athletes and spectators at all times, both on the course and off.

Suffolk University's Giving Day will take place Thursday, April 29, 2021. This is a 24-hour, university-wide online fundraising initiative that incorporates all University schools and programs.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's golf started its 2021 season in the win column as the Rams defeated Husson in a head-to-head battle, 372-477, Saturday, April 10 at Dutch Elm Golf Club.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk managed just one prep meet prior to the championship, the head-to-head match with Husson. The Rams did have two other outings scheduled, however inclement weather cancelled the events.
THE COMPETITION
Five teams from the NWGC will join Suffolk in the Empire State Sunday in SUNY Cortland, Husson, Nazareth, St. John Fisher and Utica.

THE COURSE
NWGC's Champion will be crowned after competing one day at the Colonie Golf & Country Club's 18-hole, 6,847-yard, par-72 course.
It is the second-straight season that the NWGC Championship took place on the links in Voorheesville, New York.
RAMS AT THE COLONIE COUNTRY CLUB
Suffolk last competed at the Colonie Country Club for the 2020 NWGC Championships Oct. 5-6, 2020. Nicole Antonucci and Madison Scheinberg are the only Rams on roster to compete on the green in Voorheesville, New York.

ABOUT THE NWGC
A new independent NCAA Division III women's golf conference was formed in 2019; the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) was approved by the NCAA Membership Committee.
Suffolk is one of 10 members of the league and will joined on the course Sunday, April 28 by Husson, Johnson & Wales, Keuka, Nazareth, SUNY Canton, SUNY Cortland, St. John Fisher, Utica and Westfield State for the inaugural NWGC Championship.

NWGC CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The NWGC Championship is in its third year.
Suffolk was the inaugural champion in 2019 when the Rams topped the seven-team field at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts. The 2019 was a one-day championship.
In 2020, the NWGC Championships went to a two-day event at the Colonie Country Club in Voorheesville, New York.
The Rams finished third in the eight-team field in 2020 with a team score of 771.
RAMS AT NWGC CHAMPIONSHIP
Nicole Antonucci is the inaugural NWGC Individual Champion. She earned the title as a sophomore in 2019 behind a card of 81 at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts.
Aine Dillon (T2nd) and Brooke Chapman (5th) had top-five performances at the inaugural NWGC Championships in 2019 as well.
Chapman and Antonucci put together top-10 finishes as the 2020 championship, finishing sixth and ninth, respectively, to claim All-NWGC Second-Team honors, the first Rams to do so in program history.
SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
Following the championship, Suffolk has two additional invites remaining on its schedule. The Rams will battle SUNY Cortland Saturday, May 1 before facing Worcester State in a rescheduled match the following day, Sunday, May 2.
