Antonucci, Chapman Tabbed Women’s Golf Captains

BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf head coach Jay Parker has named Nicole Antonucci and Brooke Chapman captains Thursday night. The pair will share leadership responsibilities for the 2020 spring season and entire 2020-21 campaign.

"Brooke (Chapman) and Nicole (Antonucci) are two of great athletes I have been lucky enough to coach at Suffolk," Parker said. "Both are amazing people from great families and just two of the greatest kids. Their leadership skills will help their teammates have a great college experience."

The twosome is the second duo of student-athletes to serve as co-captains in the program's short history and first since Aine Dillon and McKenzie McGrath were the first-ever leaders of the program in 2018-19.

Antonucci and Chapman have been key components to Suffolk's early success including a pair of NEIGA Championships, a New England Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) title and two runner-up showings at the Empire 8 Championships.

Individually, they each have built extensive resumes both on the course and in the classroom.

Chapman is the most decorated women's golfer in Suffolk history. She has three All-NEIGA first-team honors and earned spots NWGC and Empire 8 second teams as a sophomore and junior, respectively. Academically, the accounting/finance concentrator, has had a perfect semester grade-point average twice, and was awarded by the conference, for her studies three times.

Antonucci has come into her own as of late. Last spring she become the inaugural NWGC medalist to help the Rams capture the first-ever conference crown. On the regional stage she picked up a first-team nod at NEIGA's this fall. The finance major also excels academically four academic all-league honors.

Suffolk and the twosome is set for a three-outing spring that tees off with a dual match against Johnson & Wales and Westfield State Sunday, April 5.
