Women’s Golf Captures Inaugural NWGC Championship

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Suffolk women's golf team put an exclamation point on its third season by capturing the inaugural Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship Sunday at Tekoa Country Club.

The Rams topped the newly formed independent NCAA Division III women's golf conference first-ever title tournament with a team score of 355, 13 strokes ahead of runner-up Husson.

From the third spot in Suffolk's line-up, Nicole Antonucci anchored the Rams to conference glory as the sophomore carded an 81 to sit atop the 32 individual standings to become the first-ever NWGC Individual Champion.

Aine Dillon was four strokes behind Antonucci to share second with Keuka's Holly Reynolds.

Brooke Chapman's score of 88 put the freshman inside the top five as well in fourth.

Tess Adams put together 101, while Madison Scheinberg shot a 110 to tie for 16th and take 24th, respectively.

The title marks the third for Jay Parker's Rams in just their third varsity season and second of the year after the Rams repeated as New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) this fall.
