CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | 2025 CNE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT BRACKET

BEVELRY, Mass. – Suffolk women's basketball clinched a spot in the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament as the league announced the Rams as the sixth seed.

Suffolk will make its fourth straight trip to the CNE postseason and the program's 29th consecutive league playoff push, all of which have come under head coach Ed Leyden. The Rams are in the hunt for their first conference crown in program history.

The Rams head into the CNE as the sixth seed after it compiled an 8-10 league ledger and 13-12 overall record. Suffolk will compete in the CNE Tourney as the sixth seed for the first time. It is the first time the blue-and-gold will compete in a conference postseason as the sixth seed since 2006 when it battled in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Quarterfinals. The blue-and-gold has yet to advance in a conference tournament field as a sixth seed.

As the sixth seed, Suffolk ventures to third seed Roger Williams for the first round Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. the Hawks went 17-8 overall and 14-4 versus CNE counterparts.

In the regular season, Suffolk was taken down twice by the Hawks. The overall series is nearly even, but lands in favor of the Rams, 11-10. The foes will clash in the postseason for the first time.

In its 28 tournament appearances, Suffolk has moved onto the semifinal finals 13 times and competed in the championship five times, never in its CNE (formerly CCC) tenure. The Rams advanced from the first round of the CNE tournament for the first time a year ago.

The winner of Tuesday's tilt will punch its ticket to the semifinals where it will head to second seed Endicott Thursday, Feb. 27.

On the other side of the bracket, fourth seed University of New England will entertain fifth seed Hartford in the quarterfinals with top seed Western New England awaiting the victor for the semis.

The semifinal winners will clash in the CNE Championship at the highest remaining seed Saturday, March 1.
