
BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball took down Wentworth, 66-43, Saturday afternoon in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Tansey Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Out of a 7-all tie, Suffolk snuck in front 11-9. From there, the Rams scored 12 unanswered points to jump ahead 23-9. The teams traded two points over the final minute of the first frame, which ended with the blue-and-gold ahead, 25-12.
Suffolk controlled the second stanza, outscoring the Leopards 17-6 to take a comfortable 42-18 lead into halftime.
The Rams did not take their feet off the gas pedal out of the locker room as they extended their advantage to 30 points, 56-26, at the end of the third quarter.
The blue-and-gold's bench players commanded the hardwood in the fourth frame and sent Suffolk to the 66-43 victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Suffolk's scoring was well-balanced and spread out with every player, but one producing at least one point.
- Colby Guinta led the way with 14 points on a 5-for-7 connection rate from the floor that included a 2-for-3 showing from downtown. The junior added six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Jordan Moreau joined Guinta in double figures with 11 to go along with four caroms, three helpers and one swat.
- Allison Bono registered eight points, three dimes and two boards.
- Khaya Skene and Olivia Verdile added five points apiece off the bench.
- Suffolk shot 41.0 percent (25-61) from the field and 41.2 percent (7-17) from 3-point range.
- The Leopards outrebounded the Rams, 44-42.
- Suffolk converted WIT's 18 turnovers into 19 points.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk has won 13 games in a row against Wentworth to take a 31-9 all-time lead in the series.
- On the road, the Rams are 17-6 against the Leopards.
- Skene notched a personal-best in points (5), and 3-point field goals made (1) and tied a career-high in field goals made (2).
