
BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's basketball lost to Endicott, 70-60, in Conference of England Action (CNE) Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 7-6, Suffolk fell victim to a 2:22-minute scoring lull that allowed the Gulls to build an 11-point advantage, 17-6, with 2:25 remaining in the opening quarter.
Colby Guinta connected from downtown to spark a quarter-ending 7-3 stretch that trimmed the gap to five, 20-15.
Back-and-forth action kept it a two-possession game, 27-22, with 5:48 to play before intermission. Six straight Endicott points gave the host a double figure cushion, which it took into halftime, 35-24.
The Gulls maintained that double digit margin for the entire third, 56-42.
Suffolk attempted to make a comeback and managed to get the deficit down to single digits, 69-60, with 1:10 remaining.
Time was not on the Rams side and Endicott used the clock to close out the conference contest, 70-60.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Guinta finished with a team-high 13 points thanks in large part to a 3-for-5 effort from behind-the-arc. She added five boards, three assists and one steal.
- Maddie Stewart supplied 11 points, six rebounds, three dimes and three takeaways.
- Akiyah Brown recorded 11 points on a 4-for-4 effort from the field and a 3-for-4 showing at the line. The freshman's stat line also featured three caroms and one swat.
- Allison Bono and Jordan Moreau each had eight points. The former logged five rebounds, four steals, one assist and one steal as well, while the latter pitched in three boards, and one helper.
- Suffolk shot just 35.7 percent (20-56) on the night and 29.4 percent (5-for-17) from 3-point range.
- The Rams 83.3 free throw conversion rate (15-18) kept them in the contest.
- The Gulls grabbed more rebounds, 41-37.
NOTEWORTHY
- Brown matched a career-high 11 points and a career-high in field goals made (4).
