HOW IT HAPPENED
Tatiana Tune was responsible for the Rams offensive output in the first two minutes as the freshman poured in six points to give the host a 6-2 early edge. 

The Colonels climbed back with a 5-2 spurt that flipped the script in their favor, 7-6.  

From there, Suffolk held Curry scoreless over the next 5:28 and rattled off 15 points of its own to build a comfortable 21-7 cushion. That 15-0 Rams run featured nine points by Colby Guinta including two triples and an old-school 3-point play. 

The visitors connected on the final four points of the opening quarter to grim the gap down to 10, 21-11. 

The host went on an 11-3 run to build an 18-point margin, 32-14, with nearly four minutes removed from the second quarter. Guinta was once again a main ingredient to the scoring frenzy as the junior was responsible for six points.  

Back-and-forth action closed out the first half, which allowed Suffolk to take a 40-24 lead into halftime.  

Suffolk put on a shooting show to get the third quarter underway as it poured in 12 consecutive points to lengthen its lead to 49-24. 

The playing field evened out the rest of the way and thanks to its hefty advantage, the Rams coasted to the 83-46 victory.  

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Guinta finished the day with 17 points on a 6-for-10 showing from the floor that included a 3-for-3 performance from behind-the-arc. She added six assists and five caroms. 
  • Allison Bono poured in 15 points on a 6-for-8 effort from the floor that included a 3-for-3 showing from downtown. Her stat line featured six boards, three helpers and one steal. 
  • Maddie Stewart supplied 14 points, seven boards, four steals and three dimes. 
  • Akiyah Brown had 11 points off the bench in 11 minutes. She went 3-for-4 from the floor and converted all five of her free throw attempts. Her day featured six rebounds as well. 
  • As a team, Suffolk shot 50.8 percent (30-59) on the afternoon, 68.8 percent (11-16) from 3-point land and 85.7 percent (12-14) from the line. 
  • The Rams outrebounded the Colonels, 47-27. 
  • Suffolk converted Curry's 15 turnovers into 18 points.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • Suffolk is now 26-16 all-time against Curry. 
  • The Rams have won 12 in a row against the Colonels. 
  • In Boston, Suffolk is 15-6 all-time versus Curry. 
  • Bono had a personal-best in points (15), field goals made (6) and 3-point field goals made (3). 
  • Stewart matched a career-high four steals. 
  • Guinta tied a career-high six assists. 
  • Brown rewrote personal-best in points (11), field goals made (3), free throws made (5) and rebounds (6).
  • Khaya Skene scored the first points of her collegiate career and finished with four and matched a career-high one board.
