THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 61 | Salve Regina 74
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-2) | Salve Regina (3-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk started the game with five unanswered – a triple by Colby Guinta and a layup by Aisling Crowley – to jump out early. The Rams led by that same margin, 10-5, with four minutes off the scoreboard in the first frame. The blue-and-gold continue to maintain a multi-possession margin at the end of the first 10 minutes, 20-14.

Salve Regina surged back as it outscored Suffolk, 5-2 to make it a three-point game, 22-19, less than three minutes into the second stanza. That three-point gap remained at the midway point in the Rams' favor, 25-22.

From there, Suffolk scored eight quick points to stretch the distance to double figures, 33-22, with 3:55 to go before halftime. The Seahawks put up the final points of the quartet to trim the distance down to six, 33-27, as the teams headed to the locker rooms.

Amanda DeAngelis scored the first hoop of the third quarter, but it turned into a Seahawks show from there as they poured in 12 unanswered to flip the script in their favor, 39-35, at the 6:30 mark.

The lead would exchange six times the rest of the third quarter and end in Salve Regina's favor at the buzzer, 46-45, as the game headed to the fourth.

Momentum shifted in Salve Regina's favor in the fourth quarter as it built a six-point gap, 55-49, in the first four minutes.

DeAngelis managed to break a nearly four-minute scoring draught for Suffolk out of a Rams' timeout, but the Seahawks rebutted with five unanswered to take a nine-point, 60-51, advantage with 4:09 remaining.

The distance grew to as many as 10, 63-53, 3:06 to go to force the Rams into another huddle. Out of this timeout, a pair of freebies by DeAngelis was followed by a traditional 3-point play to trim the margin back to five, 63-58, at the 2:26 mark.

Salve Regina lengthened its lead back to double figures, 69-59, with 39 seconds to go and that ground proved much for Suffolk to make up.
