An early lead paid off for Suffolk women's basketball as it held off Saint Joseph's (Maine)'s fourth comeback en route to a 54-47 triumph to wrap up play at the Terriers Tip-Off Tournament Sunday afternoon at Larry Maheny Gymnasium.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk swept its two-game trip to the Terriers Tip-Off Tournament this weekend with a 68-48 win over New England College followed by a 54-47 triumph over Saint Joseph's (Maine) to sit 2-0 on the year.  

Colby Guinta and Amanda DeAngelis are two-way players for the Rams. Guinta leads the offense with 18.0 ppg and is second on the squad on the glass with 8.5 rpg. Amanda DeAngelis supplied 12.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Allison Bono rounds out the top scoring threats with 11.5 ppg, while Aisling Crowley contributes a team-best 9.0 rpg.  

VIKINGS VIEW
Salem State fell to Emerson, 71-59, in its season opener Saturday to sit 0-1 on the year.  

Kylie Gates led the scoring for the Vikings in game one with 18 points behind a 7-for-17 effort from the floor. Her stat line feature four boards, foru steals and three helpers. Abuk Teng had a 16-point, 10-rebound double. Ernidia Goncalves added nine points, six points and one steal.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

• Suffolk has won three games in a row against Salem State to move to 3-2 all-time.
