HOW IT HAPPENED
DeAngelis and Romito combined forces to send Suffolk to an 8-2 early edge in the first three minutes.

The Colonels charged back with outside shooting and took the lead, 9-8, at the 5:50 minute mark.

From there, the lead flipped back-and-forth six times with the last coming in Curry's favor with just under two minutes left in the opening frame. The visitors would go on to close out the first quarter with six unanswered to put the Rams in a 23-18 hole.

To start the second, Curry outscored Suffolk, 9-2, to extend the margin to a dozen, 32-20. The Rams battled back behind eight unanswered to close the gap to two, 34-32. Olivia Gourdine buried a top of the key trey with 23 seconds left before halftime however to send Suffolk into the break down 37-32.

Suffolk poured in the first 12points of the third quarter to regain the advantage, 44-37. DeAngelis and Romito were responsible for four points apiece in that stretch.

The playing field evened out and things locked twice, with the last at 49-all after Allison Bono converted a trip to the free throw line to two points with 57 seconds left in the third.

DeAngelis pushed Suffolk in front as she caused a Kylie McCarthy turnover and zoomed down the hardwood for a fastbreak layup that gave the Rams a 51-49 upper hand as the game headed to the fourth.

The distance remained at one possession for the bulk of the final quarter. Curry ahead 62-60 with just under four minutes remaining on the clock. Colby Guinta evened the playing field at 62 thanks to a pair of freebies.

Guinta's free throws sparked an 11-0 Rams run that gave the host a 71-62 cushion with 57 seconds to play. DeAngelis proved crucial back-to-back buckets in that span, while Jordan Moreau knocked down a 3-pointer that brought the standing-room only crowd at Smith Court to its feet.

Suffolk's composure came into play over the final minute and the Rams coasted to the 77-66 victory.
