CCC RELEASE

BEVELRY, Mass.– Suffolk women's basketball saw a pair of players pick up weekly awards in Lauren Romito, CCC Co-Player of the Week, and Jordan Moreau, CCC Rookie of the Week, on the heels of a 1-1 week of the Rams, the league office announced Monday.

Romito averaged a double-double of 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg on a 45.0 conversion rate from the floor, while Moreau put together 12.5 ppg on a 40.0 field goal percentage for the week.

At Hartford on Wednesday, Romito led the charge with a 14-point, 14-rebound, five-block effort. Moreau, meanwhile, chipped in 12 points, two caroms, two steals and one helper.

The pair was crucial to Suffolk's 73-66 win at Roger Williams. Romito registered 18 points, eight boards and five blocks and Moreau pitched in 13 points on a 3-for-4 performance from the floor that included a 2-for-3 showing from 3-point land.

The two awards in a from the CCC is a first for Suffolk this season and first since Amanda DeAngelis and Colby Guinta swept the CCC awards Nov. 21, 2022. Romito and Moreau are no strangers to weekly nods individually. Moreau scooped up her fourth recognition from the CCC, a best by a Rams rookie in the CCC era, while Romito received her second player of the week distinction this year. This season, Suffolk has taken home six weekly accolades from the CCC, all of which belong to Romito and Moreau.

Suffolk returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 23 when it entertains Gordon at 5:30 p.m. at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court
