BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball returned to New England where it will usher in the New Year with a Commonwealth Coast Conference clash at Curry Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk women's basketball suffered its second setback of the season as the Rams were tripped up by Wisconsin Stevens Point, 57-43, Saturday night at the McArthur Center on the campus of Eckerd College as part of the Basketball Destinations St. Pete Classic.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk split its time at the Basketball Destinations St. Pete Classic with a 54-48 win over Keene State and a 57-43 setback to Wisconsin Stevens Point to sit 8-2 on the year overall. The Rams to CCC competition with a 2-1 league ledger.  

Amanda DeAngelis averages a double-double with 14.4 ppg and 11.3 rpg to leads the Rams on both ends of the hardwood. Lauren Romito is on the verge of a double-double average as well with 12.6 ppg and 9.1 rpg to her credit. Jordan Moreau and Colby Guinta are consistent contributors to the blue-and-gold's 69.8 ppg offensive output with 9.0 ppg and 8.8 ppg, respectively.  

COLONELS CATCHUP
Curry fell in all four of its games in December to hold a 4-5 overall record and 0-2 CCC mark. The Colonels league setbacks came to Nichols, 103-90 and Roger Williams, 74-53.  

Lauren Dunn is an offensive force for the Colonels. The sophomore guard is the only Curry player producing double figures in scoring with 16.1 ppg to her credit to anchor the squad's 70.6 ppg effort. Ellery Campbell and Sophie Hilbrunner chip in 9.8 ppg and 9.4 ppg, respectively.  

Hilbrunner's 9.7 rpg leads the Colonels 41.7 rpg effort that receives 6.8 rpg by Campbell and 5.6 rpg from both Dunn and Kasey Reeves. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is 23-16 all-time against Curry. 
  • The Rams have won nine in a row against the Colonels. 
  • In Boston, Suffolk is 13-6 all-time versus Curry. 
  • As the away team, the Rams are 11-9 against the Colonels.
