BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball takes its unbeaten record into the Commonwealth Coast Conference portion of its scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 29 when the Rams visit Gordon for a 5:30 p.m. conference clash.

LAST TIME OUT
A dozen different Rams provided at least two points to help Suffolk women's basketball run past Salem state, 79-61, Monday night at Twohig Gymnasium. The victory pushed the blue-and-gold to a 4-0 start, its best season-opening since beginning 2011-12 with the same ledger.

RAMS RUNDOWN
At 4-0, Suffolk is off to its best start since 2011-12.  

The Rams' 77.0 ppg offense sees four different players producing double figures in points per game in Amanda DeAngelis (14.8 ppg), Lauren Romito (13.0 ppg), Colby Guinta (10.0 ppg) and Jordan Moreau (10.0 ppg). 

Defensively, DeAngelis' 12.3 rpg leads the blue-and-gold's 51.3 rpg effort that receives 9.5 rpg from Romito. 

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon holds a 1-4 record with its lone win coming over Dean, 80-49, Nov. 18.  

Like Suffolk, four different players average double figures in points in Ami Rivera (15.2 ppg), Isabella Rivera (13.8 ppg), Olivia Brown (10.8 ppg) and Sydney Noyes (10.4 ppg).

Noyes paces the Fighting Scots on the glass with 9.6 rpg. Rivera's 5.4 rpg is good for second on the squad.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has fallen in three straight games to Gordon to move to 6-5 all-time in the series with the Fighting Scots. 
  • Suffolk looks for its first win over Gordon since a 61-53 decision in Wenham, Massachusetts, Jan. 31, 2022. 
  • The Rams hold identical 3-2 records at home and on the road against Gordon.

SUFFOLK IN CCC OPENERS

  • Suffolk has yet to open its CCC calendar in the win column, 0-2. 
  • The Rams fell in their first-ever CCC contest to the University of New England, 54-52, Dec. 1, 2021. 
  • A year ago, Suffolk lost to Western New England, 62-52, in game one of the CCC campaign, Nov. 30, 2022. 
  • Suffolk has split its time on the road (0-1) and at home (0-1) for its first CCC tilt of a campaign. 
  • The Rams will begin their CCC schedule on the road for the first time since the 2021-22 season. 
  • The Rams and Gordon will tangle in the blue-and-gold's first CCC contest of a season for the first time. 

LEAGUE DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 17-12 (0-2 NEWAC / 17-8 GNAC / 0-2 CCC) all-time in its first conference contest of the season. 
  • Under Ed Leyden, the Rams sport a 17-11 record in its first league outing of a year. 
  • In its conference debut, the blue-and-gold is 10-4 at home, 6-6 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. The location of the league openers for the NEWAC is unknown. 
  • Suffolk has gone into overtime in its first conference contest of the year once, a double overtime 62-57 triumph over Johnson & Wales Jan. 7, 2012. 
  • The Rams begin their league calendar in November for the third time in program history and second straight season.

RAMS RECOGNITION
Suffolk women's basketball's Jordan Moreau collected Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week after helping the Rams rally past Salve Regina, 97-93, in overtime Nov. 21, the league office announced Monday.

NEWBA NEWS
Suffolk women's basketball was well-represented on the New England Women's Basketball Association's (NEWBA) weekly awards as Jordan Moreau was named NEWBA Rookie of the Week and Amanda DeAngelis earned a spot on the regional organization's weekly first team thanks to their performances in the 97-93 overtime win over Salve Regina.
