2023-24 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROSTER
BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball's roster will have a new look in 2023-24 as eight fresh faces joined the fold over the offseason, head coach Ed Leyden unveiled.
The group, split evenly between guards (4) and forwards (4), is primarily true freshmen with seven members of the Class of 2027 in Claire Berkowitz, Akiyah Brown, Madison Michienzie, Delaney More, Jordan Moreau, Ava Thurman and Olivia Verdile. Lauren Romito, meanwhile, is a graduate transfer, who brought her talents to Beacon Hill from SUNY Geneseo.
"The new players have practiced hard and are beginning to learn how competitive college basketball is and how challenging it is to be a student athlete and how to live on your own for the first time," Leyden said. "It is not easy to make that transition."
The eight Rams rookies will join forces for the five returners, graduate student Madi Mahoney, senior Amanda DeAngelis, juniors Aisling Crowley and Maddie Stewart and sophomore Colby Guinta, in the hunt for the program's first-ever conference championship.
Ram Nation will get its first taste of the 2023-24 edition of Suffolk women's basketball tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 8 when the blue-and-gold welcomes Emerson to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 5 p.m. tangle.
