Women’s Basketball Announces 2021-22 Schedule

2021-22 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball head coach Ed Leyden announced the Rams' 2021-22 schedules, Wednesday afternoon. The Rams will be tested against new conference counterparts in their first true Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) campaign with 18 league tilts on tap.  Ram Nation will have the chance to cheer on the blue-and-gold at Larry E. & Michael S. Smith Court a dozen 12 times after a year without fans.

The Rams' 39th season, 28th under Leyden's leadership, gets underway at Smith Court Tuesday, Nov. 9 when Emerson crosses the Boston Common. Suffolk hits the road for a pair of MASCAC battles at Bridgewater State (Nov. 13) and Salem State (Nov. 15) to cap off its opening week.

It's another quick turnaround for the blue-and-gold with just two days rest from its trip to Witch City as Colby Sawyer is set to travel to Boston Wednesday, Nov. 17.

Suffolk concludes up November at Plymouth State (Nov. 20) and Fitchburg State (Nov. 23).

December opens with back-to-back CCC foes. First a trek to Biddeford, Maine to tangle with the University of New England is on tap Wednesday, Dec. 1, before Western New England plays Smith Court a visit, Saturday Dec. 4.

The Rams put a cap on 2021 play with their non-conference finale, Friday, Dec. 10 against Fisher.

Nichols travels to Beantown to open the blue-and-gold's New Year with a CCC clash set for Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Suffolk's schedules continues with see-saw home and away action. Trips to Gordon (Jan. 6) and Curry (Jan. 12) precede a home battle against Wentworth (Jan. 8) and Endicott (Jan. 15), respectively.

The blue-and-gold ventures to Salve Regina on Wednesday, Jan. 19 and Western New England that same weekend (Jan. 22).

Suffolk entertains Gordon Tuesday, Jan. 25, before journeying to Nichols Saturday, Jan. 29, to close out January.

February opens away from home at Wentworth (Feb. 2), which preps the Ram for a four-game stay in Beacon Hill. That stretch will feature CCC foes Salve Regina (Feb. 5), the University of New England (Feb. 8), Curry (Feb. 12) and Roger Williams (Feb. 16).

From there, the Rams will wrap up regular-season play at Endicott Saturday, Feb. 19.

Suffolk concludes their regular season play with a matchup at Endicott (Feb. 19).

Leyden brings back a veteran roster that features three graduate students and five seniors with leading scorers Jenni-Rose DiCecco, Gabriella DeComo, and Natalie Fraioli all back in the line-up. The trio each averaged over 10.0 ppg with DiCecco leading the way at 11.9 ppg and 5.6 apg, respectively, in the COVID shortened campaign.
