DiCecco Picks Up NEWBA All-Region Honor 

BOSTON  Suffolk women's basketball sophomore Jenni-Rose DiCecco picked up her second all-region accolade of the season the point guard was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association's (NEWBA) third-team, the organization announced Wednesday morning.  

The recognition is not only the first of her career, but a first for the Rams' women's basketball program. The nod comes on the heels of her fourth-team All-Northeast nod from D3Hoops.com, also a first for the program.  

The Falmouth, Massachusetts, product is one of three GNAC student-athletes on the list joining Saint Joseph's (Maine)'s Kelsie McNamara, who was named NEWBA Player of the Year in addition to a first-team spot, and Emmanuel's Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda.  

DiCecco continued to be a director of the Rams' unit in her second season in blue-and-gold. The floor general, who played 38.7 minutes per game, led the way offensively with 17.0 points per game to go with 4.5 assists per game and sparked the defense with a team-best 2.5 steals per outing. The All-GNAC first-team selection sat second on the squad on the glass with 6.0 rpg 

The yearly award is the third for the 2018-19 campaign for DiCecco and fifth of her career as she was tabbed the GNAC Rookie of the Year and was named to the NEWBA All-Rookie Team last season.
