DiCecco Garners Fourth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – For the fourth time this season, Suffolk women's basketball's Jenni-Rose DiCecco has been named the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

The accolade comes thanks to a 21-point, five-rebound, four-assist, two-steal, one-block night in the Rams' sixth straight win, a 74-67 decision over Suffolk's Boston Commons neighbor Emerson. 

As a rookie, DiCecco has helped guide Suffolk to its best start, 8-2, through 10 games with the floor general averaging a team-best 15.7 ppg thanks to a43.8 shooting percentage from the field, while playing 36.6 minute per contest. To go along with her offensive output, the Falmouth, Massachusetts, product grabs 5.5 rpg, dishes out 4.0 apg and racks up 2.3 spg. 

In the win versus Emerson, DiCecco poured in a game-high 21 points to lead Suffolk's attack. She shot 50 percent (8-16) from the floor to record with her fourth collegiate contest with 20-plus points and second in as many outings. 

DiCecco and the Rams look to run their win streak to seven when they return to action after the New Year Saturday, Jan. 6 versus Pine Manor. Game time at Regan Gymnasium is set for 1 p.m.
