DiCecco Grabs Second GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week Nod

BOSTON – Jenni-Rose DiCecco of the Suffolk women's basketball team has been recognized by the conference for the second time this season as the freshman has been named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week thanks to her 14.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 4.7 apg performance in a 3-0 week for the Rams, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

To prep for conference competition, DiCecco opened the week with a monster performance at Curry, which helped the Rams take down the Colonels 72-57. The floor general registered a career-high 28 points thanks to an 8-for-18 performance from the floor to go along with 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals. 

To follow up her first collegiate double-double, the Falmouth, Massachusetts, native helped the Rams open league action with a 57-36 victory over Lasell, marking the first-time Suffolk lifted the lid on the conference scheduled with a win since the 2013-14 season. 

DiCecco closed the week with 13 points, seven caroms and five helpers in a 84-61 trouncing of Mount Ida. 

The weekly award is the second of DiCecco's freshman campaign as she was recognized as the conference's best rookie over a seven day stretch Nov. 20. 

DiCecco and the Rams return to action Thursday, Dec. 7 when they visit Fitchburg State for a 7 p.m. non-conference clash.
