Women’s Basketball Claims Fourth Seed in GNAC Championship

BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team earned the fourth seed in the 2016 GNAC Tournament, which will take place next week on campus across the conference.

The Rams (16-9, 8-3 GNAC) will make their 21st straight appearance in the conference tournament after finishing the year 16-9 overall and 8-3 in conference contests. The Rams will be gunning for their first GNAC title

Saint Joseph's College of Maine used its 11-1 regular season record to claim the top-seed in the championship. The reigning conference champion Johnson & Wales took the second spot with Emmanuel earning the third. The Wildcats and Saints along with the Rams will host quarterfinal contests Tuesday night.

The three winners from Tuesday's games and SJC will meet Thursday night at the highest remaining seeded school in the semifinals, with the winners meeting in the Champion Saturday, Feb. 27. The winner will earn the GNAC's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
