Santini Paces Offense for Women's Basketball in Road Win

Junior Shelby Santini (Winchester, Mass.) scored a career-high 22 points as the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team took a 65-57 decision over the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Monday afternoon.

Suffolk closed off a back and forth first half with a 12-1 run in the final three minutes of the period to take a 35-24 lead into the break. Six different players scored during the run for Suffolk as Santini and junior Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) combined for 24 points in the first half.

The Rams would hold the lead throughout the second half despite being outscored by the Blue Jays, 32-30.

Quadri would finish the game with 19 points to help pace the Suffolk offense alongside Santini. The duo would combine on four made three-pointers in the contest as freshman Georgia Bourikas (Hull, Mass.) would add another on a seven point effort in the game.

Suffolk held a 47-35 edge on the glass in the game as sophomore Chelsea Campellone (Fall River, Mass.) finished with a team-high 10 rebounds. Campellone would also add seven points off the bench for Suffolk, who now improve to an 8-4 record on the season, and 3-1 mark in GNAC play.

Suffolk will be back in action on Thursday evening as they travel to Endicott College for a non-conference matchup with the Gulls beginning at 7:00pm.
