Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) led all scorers with 20 points to lead the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team to a 67-48 victory over the Mount Ida College Mustangs on Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Vienneau finished the game with 20 points, seven rebounds, and had team-highs with five assists and five steals to lead the Rams to their fifth straight victory as they improve to an 18-5 overall mark on the year and have won nine of 10 GNAC contests thus far.

Senior Evebonee Acosta (Hartford, Conn.) finished with a team-high 17 points for the Mustangs to go along with six rebounds.

The loss drops Mount Ida to a 6-17 record on the year as they remain winless in 10 GNAC games this season.

Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 12 points while collecting seven rebounds, and sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) finished the evening with a team-high nine rebounds also chipping in with 10 points.

Suffolk held a distinctive advantage on the glass as they outrebounded Mount Ida by a 67-48 margin.

The Rams led throughout the entire 40 minute contest as they took a 35-20 lead into halftime with Vienneau and sophomore Shelby Santini (Winchester, Mass.) carrying the offensive load. Vienneau scored nine points in the opening twenty minutes of play, while Santini netted her game's eight points in the period.

An 11-0 run midway through the second half would propel the Rams to a 22-point margin as a free-throw by senior Lindsey Rogers (Gloucester, Mass.) made it a 53-31 game with 11 minutes remaining.

Sophomore Jenn Rafuse (Brockton, Mass.) finished the night with 11 rebounds and a team-high four steals for the Mustangs, while junior Abbey Fedigan (New Fairfield, Conn.) and sophomore Allison O'Connor (Leominster, Mass.) each scored nine points.

Both teams will be back in GNAC action on Thursday evening with rescheduled games due to this past weekend's winter storm. Mount Ida will host the Blue Jays of St. Joseph University 7:00pm. Suffolk will host Simmons College at 7:00pm as both teams will take part in the Play 4 Kay Breast Cancer Awareness event.
