Women's Basketball Cruise Past Lasell, 67-24

The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team rolled to a 67-24 victory over the Lasell College Lasers in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams opened the game scoring the first 19 points of the contest and ended the first half with a 37-4 lead as they limited the Lasers to just one-field goal in the opening twenty minutes of the contest.

Ten players would score on the day for the Rams, highlighted by a game-high 13 points by sophomore Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) as Suffolk improves to a 15-5 overall mark on the year, and are now winners of seven of eight GNAC contests.

Freshman Gracy Harrigan (Taunton, Mass.) chipped in with 11 points off the bench for the Rams, while sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) collected a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with four points.

The Rams were able to force 26 Lasell College turnovers in the contest that they translated into 32 points.

Sophomore Shelby Santini (Winchester, Mass.) netted nine points, added a team-high six assists, two steals and a block while senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) scored eight points along with three steals and three assists.

Senior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) was 3-for-7 from the field as she scored six points in limited action on Saturday.

Suffolk will be back in action again on Tuesday evening as they host Johnson & Wales University at the Regan Gymnasium at 6:00pm in a GNAC contest.
