Women's Basketball Win Third Straight

The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team collected their third consecutive victory with an 87-73 victory over the Albertus Magnus College Falcons in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday evening.

Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) finished just shy of a triple-double with 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while sophomore Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) scored a team-high 26 points on 6-for-12 shooting from beyond the arc to move the Rams to a 2-0 record within GNAC play and 10-4 mark overall on the season.

Trailing 57-56 with eleven minutes remaining in regulation Quadri hit consecutive three-pointers to propel a 9-0 Suffolk run that would help them take over the game for good.

The Rams would close out their victory going 11-for-12 from the free-throw line as a team over the final four minutes of the contest.

Vienneau would score eight of her points over the final ninety-eight seconds of the contest for the Rams, while she finished the game just one assist shy of Suffolk's program mark of 385 for her career.

Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) continued her strong play for the Rams as she posted her second straight double-double in GNAC games and third on the year with 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Suffolk held a 56-33 edge on the glass in the contest.

Albertus Magnus junior Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) finished the game leading all scorers as she poured in a career-high 33 points for the Falcons. The loss drops the Falcons to a 10-3 mark on the year and 0-2 record in GNAC play.

Suffolk will be back in action on Thursday evening when they continue their GNAC slate as they host Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 6:00pm at the Regan Gymnasium.
