Jacqueline Vienneau Reaches 1,000 Career Point Milestone

Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H./Central Catholic HS) became the 11th player in Suffolk University Women's Basketball program history to reach 1,000 career point milestone on Thursday evening in a 68-38 Rams victory over Nichols College.

Vienneau nearly missed a triple-double as she finished the evening with 10 points, seven assists and six rebounds to pace the Rams to their fifth straight victory as they improve to a 7-2 overall mark on the season.

Vienneau entered the contest needing 10 points to reach the plateau and achieved in at the 11:02 mark in the second half with a lay-in on a fast break.

Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) and Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) each scored 13 points on the evening for Suffolk.

Vienneau opened the scoring for the Rams with a three-pointer to give Suffolk a 3-2 lead and they would not trail after that. The senior guard would score five of the Rams' first six points as they would work their way to a 20-point lead with three minutes left in the first half when senior Dominique Demar (Colchester, Conn.) made a lay-in for a 31-11 lead. The Rams would finish the first half with a 33-15 edge.

Suffolk shot 46.7-percent as a team in the second half (14-for-30) as they outscored the Bison, 35-23.

Sophomore Alexis Wegrzynek (Wilbraham, Mass.) led visiting Nichols College with 11 points. The Bison committed 26 turnovers in the contest which Suffolk translated into 24 points.

The Rams held a 52-40 edge on the glass led by sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) who finished with 15 rebounds in the game.

The loss drops Nichols College to a 2-4 mark on the season.

Nichols will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they travel to Framingham State University for a 6:00pm non-conference matchup. Suffolk will host Endicott College at the Regan Gymnasium
