Ruys Perfect from the Free-Throw Line in Women's Basketball Victory

Junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) was a perfect 14-for-14 from the free-throw en route to a 20-point effort as the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team rolled to a 62-56 victory over Roger Williams on Tuesday evening.

The Suffolk starting five combined for 58 points as sophomore Iliani Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) netted 13 points and senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) also added 12 points as the Rams improve to a 2-1 mark on the year.

Ruys scored the first two points of the game for the Rams as she connected on a pair of shots from the line one minute and twenty six seconds into the game and they would not trail for the remainder of the contest.They held their largest lead of the game with eight minutes remaining at 49-40 on two more free-throws from the junior forward.

Senior Lindsey Rogers (Gloucester, Mass.) added eight points for the Rams as she was also a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Suffolk was 23-for-25 as a team in the game from the charity stripe.

Suffolk will be back in action again on Monday as they play their regular season home opener at the Regan Gymnasium at 7:00pm as they host Curry College.
