The Suffolk University Women’s Basketball garnered recognition by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for another strong week as the Rams extended their winning streak to eight games with GNAC wins over Johnson & Wales University and Lasell College.

Freshman Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week after she averaged 18 points in both of the Rams’ wins in conference play. Ruys tied her season-high with 19 points in Thursday’s 80-52 win over Johnson & Wales shooting 7-for-10 from the field, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Ruys followed that up leading the Rams with 17 points in Saturday’s 70-50 victory over Lasell College.

Sophomore Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) was named to the GNAC’s Weekly Honor Roll for consecutive weeks. Vienneau set a career-high on Thursday evening scoring 23 points, along with 10 rebounds as she recorded her second double-double of the 2010-11 season.
