Freshman Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) of the Suffolk University Women’s Basketball team was named GNAC Rookie of the Week after she averaged 18 points in both of the Rams’ wins in conference play extending the Rams winning streak to eight games.. Ruys tied her season-high with 19 points in Thursday’s 80-52 win over Johnson & Wales shooting 7-for-10 from the field, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Ruys followed that up leading the Rams with 17 points in Saturday’s 70-50 victory over Lasell College.
