Vienneau's 23-Point Effort Leads Rams to 80-52 Win over Johnson & Wales

Sophomore Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team (13-6, 7-1 GNAC) to their seventh win in a row as the Rams topped the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats (5-13, 2-4 GNAC), 80-52 on Thursday evening at the Regan Gymnasium.

Vienneau recorded her second double-double of the season as she also recorded 10 rebounds in the contest. The sophomore guard came out shooting hot in the first half netting 16 points connecting on four three-pointers. She would finish the game 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and also added four assists.

Freshman Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) tied her season-high with 19 points in the game to go along with eight rebounds, while junior Mary Garon (Auburn, N.H.) recorded double digits in rebounds for the fifth time this season with 10 to go along with her nine points.

Freshman Marisa Cataldo (Stoneham, Mass.) had a strong second half for the Rams scoring 13 points, as she was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, connecting on two shots from three-point land and also picked up four steals in 10 minutes of action.

Sophomore Marina Millian (Chester, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with 12 points, while freshman Jenna Juron (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) had nine points and a team-high six boards in the game.

Suffolk held a distinct edge in rebounds over the Wildcats in the contest at 59-34, while the Rams continued to shoot well as a team finishing at forty-two percent from the field, and forty-five percent from three-point land.

The win marks the eighth win in a row at home for the Rams in the Regan Gymnasium as they move to a 13-6 record on the season and improve to 7-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Both teams will be back in GNAC action this weekend. Johnson & Wales will host Mount Ida College on Saturday at 1:00pm, while Suffolk will travel to Lasell College for a 4:00pm tipoff.
