Box Score

The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team (11-8 overall, 5-2 GNAC) picked up their fourth straight victory Wednesday evening taking down the Johnson & Wales Wildcats (9-11 overall, 4-3 GNAC), 62-55.

Freshman Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) finished the game with 20 points, going 4-for-7 from three point land to pace the Rams as they continue to climb up the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) standings.

Senior Laura Thompson (Kennebunk, Me.) posted her fourth double-double of the season, picking up 14 points to go along with 12 rebounds for the Rams.

Both Thompson and Vienneau had monster second halves as the Rams trailed going into halftime, but managed to outscore the Wildcats, 38-29 in the game's second period for their fifth conference win of the season.

Thompson scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half, while Vienneau scored 15 in the second half, connecting on three 3-pointers in a four minute span as the Rams were able to push their lead up to as many as 10 points in the opening six minutes of the second half.

Johnson & Wales held a steady lead for much of the first half shooting 43 percent from the field and forcing 15 Rams' turnovers in the game's first twenty minutes. However the Rams tight defense helped them battle as they forced 31 Wildcat's turnovers in the game, scoring 26 of their points throughout the contest on takeaways.

Freshman Lindsey Rogers (Gloucester, Mass.) scored 11 points for the Rams along with five assists, five rebounds and four steals, while sophomore Kristina Hayner (Bedford, N.H.) had 10 points.

Suffolk will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Lasell College in a GNAC matchup at 2:00pm the Regan Gymnasium.
