Rams Get Win at Home, 61-45

Boston, MA -- The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team held Framingham State to 29.1% shooting en route to a 61-45 non-conference victory Thursday night at Suffolk's Regan Gymnasium in Boston, MA.

Senior Kerry Bowman (Guilford, CT) led the Rams with a game-high 20 points on 9-15 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds. Freshman Julianne Conrad (West Bridgewater, MA) added ten points and 11 rebounds for Suffolk.

Kate Simonelli led Framingham with 14 points.

Suffolk's stifling defense held FSC to only two points for the first 12:07 of the game. SU led 14-2 before a Jill Johnson (10 points) three-pointer snapped Framingham's nine-minute scoring drought.

Suffolk led 35-14 at the end of the first half as it held Framingham to 6-28 shooting from the field, good for just 21.4%

FSC got off to a better start in the second half and got as close as nine points when Toya Chester's (9 points) jumper cut the Suffolk lead to 39-30 with 11:53 remaining.

Suffolk quickly responded by upping the lead to 16 points with less than three minutes remaining.

SU will honor Seniors Bowman, Emily Duquette (Harrisville, RI) and Meghan Tracey (Rehoboth, MA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. as part of Senior Day versus Mount Ida.
